Hi, I’m Alice.
A Cardiff based designer with over a decade of experience working in the design industry. Over the years, I have been able to apply my design skills together with sign writing and glass gilding to create some treasured pieces.
I’ve been colouring in since I was 12, and I was always in my grandads workshop. This led me to achieving a few design degrees, which overall helped me colour inside the lines a bit better and the rest they say, is history.

For over a decade, I’ve been working as a Graphic Designer in Cardiff, either in-house or agency based.
After working on different design projects from logo design to printed materials, I wanted to see how my design skills would fit into the world of sign-painting and glass gilding.
My love for the craft developed from always working with my Grandad when I was little and then delving into his carpentry workshop after he passed away. I discovered his gilding tools, and fell head over heels.
After attending a few workshops to perfect my skills, the designs and style became a part of my day to day ethic.
Traditional sign painting and glass gilding has been a dying trade for many years, but it’s coming back with a new lease of life with help from new sign painters and designers.
Each glass piece that I create is done by me, by hand. From sourcing high quality local suppliers, cutting the glass shape to perfecting the detail of the design.

The non design side of Alice Artwork.
Working day in day out as a designer is a complete joy, but it can’t be all work and no play.
When I haven’t got a brush in my hand I love to get away in my bright yellow camper van called ‘nancy’, named after my nan. She takes me everywhere and is a true labour of love.
In the summer months I volunteer for a charity providing medical support at festivals where the van really comes in handy. Otherwise, you’ll find me hanging out with my friends and family and a cheeky rum.
